SC Pride UK: Transgender Day of Remembrance Event Poster

This project involved designing the promotional poster for a key Diversity & Inclusion internal event hosted by SC Pride UK (Standard Chartered's LGBTQ+ employee resource group) to mark Transgender Day of Remembrance on November 20th. The goal was to create a design that was visually striking, professional, and respectful, while clearly communicating the event's critical themes.

Purpose and Goals

The primary purpose of the poster was to drive both in-person and virtual attendance for a fireside chat featuring award-winning trans activist and consultant, Tate Smith. The design needed to achieve three main goals:

  1. Communicate Professionalism: Align with the bank's corporate branding while dealing with a sensitive, D&I topic.

  2. Highlight Key Themes: Clearly list the discussion topics—Trans Awareness, Gender Equality, Male Allyship, and Equality in the Workplace—to attract a broad audience of allies and colleagues.

  3. Provide Clear Logistics: Ensure essential details like the date, time, virtual link, and in-person location were easily digestible.

    Impact and Reception

The event, and consequently the poster's promotion, was greatly appreciated across the office for its powerful and visible commitment to inclusion. It successfully supported the resource group's efforts to increase trans visibility and workplace awareness. The clarity of the design ensured maximum attendance, contributing to a highly impactful and well-received diversity and inclusion initiative within the Standard Chartered community.
